Brisket Bash

Nothing can stop a great brisket sandwich from being enthusiastically consumed and we certainly lived that out on Saturday, March 28th!  Although the wind prevented our 6 tents (aka our community publicity) from going up, the threat of rain didn’t stop anyone from coming by the New Room for a brisket sack lunch.

From noon until 2 pm, many folks were greeted by the campers and welcomed inside. Favorite stories and activities from camp were shared as people stood in line to receive their sack lunches from our LHHS National Honor Society volunteers.  These fantastic youth joyfully assembled our sack lunches, before passing them on to the kitchen crew headed by Beef Smoker Extraordinaire, Eddie, for the hot brisket sandwiches.

There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available for our supporters to visit with one another as they enjoyed their lunches.  Camp videos played on the projector, and by the end of the day, the campers were on stage doing camp chants and dances.

The day was a huge success and $2447.71 was raised for Summer Camp Experiences!
Many thanks to everyone involved.

Hmmmm – wondering if Chef Eddie would do breakfast brisket tacos for us when we pull out for camp at 5:00 AM on the 9th of June?!?
